All I want for Christmas is a print of a Penguin Cafe Orchestra album cover.
Alright. Finished this last night.
Again I took a whole lot of elements from the original (a big part of the composition, the grey, the blue splat, the white, pretty much all of the text). I feel like I’m cheating with that vertical text again, but it makes it different and it works.
The whole thing is a bit amateurishly literal, i guess, but I was just drawing something when I realized it would fit.
Tried to keep a bit of the color scheme of the original cover and pretty much wholesale swiped the flying birds and sideways text, ‘cause they work. Why did I even do this one?

I’ve been looking through some of my music lately and thought it would be a fun exercise to draw some new covers for Albums i like but covers I don’t.
Am I making sense?
EDIT TO ADD: These are all gonna be on 6” by 6” little bristol papers for added fun.
I wasn’t ACTUALLY hired to draw an album cover but I hope people ask me to do it in the future. I love album covers.
(The H.K. Stands for Harmony Krill. Probably an acid-jazz hip-hop group with a lead that sounds like Joe Walsh)
